Jiujiang Concord Deaf School was founded in 2000 by deaf principal He Shenghua. It is the first deaf school founded and managed by deaf people in China since the establishment of New China with more than 100 deaf students and 22 deaf and hearing teachers. Doctor Richard Lytle, vice president of US Gallaudet University, has led the delegation to visit and guide our school for several times. And Principle He Shenghua has also come to visit US in the invitation of Gallaudet University. Our school learns the advanced experience from foreign countries, bravely adopting elementary education textbook and paper which are seldom adopted by the national education for deaf people. The graduated students will be granted the graduation certificate for middle school by Education Bureau. Their achievements are perfectly obvious. In 2008, 5 students took part in Nation High School Entrance Examination, and all passed it, 2 of them entering the Deaf University directly. It is greatly impressed at home and abroad. The domestic famous bilingual expert, after his inspection, praised: “The cultural environment in Jiujiang Concord Deaf School is the paradise for the deaf children.”
